3VR RELEASES CRIMEDEX 2.0, COLLABORATIVE CRIMINAL DATA-SHARING SERVICE WITH SECURE SOCIAL NETWORKING CAPABILITIES

Criminal Investigation Organizations Choose Industry’s Most Robust Criminal Search Service to Share Information, Expedite Investigations and Prevent Fraud and Theft

San Francisco — June 23, 2009 –3VR Security, Inc., the searchable surveillance leader, today announced the release of CrimeDex 2.0, which incorporates several highly requested new features including a collaborative group interface, video and image support, and complete integration capabilities with the award-winning 3VR surveillance platform. Now delivering advanced social networking and information sharing capabilities to fraud and law enforcement professionals, CrimeDex 2.0 provides the unique ability to search a comprehensive Web-driven database of complete profiles of more than 14,000 criminal suspects, expedite investigations and securely share critical information to solve and prevent crime.

With its latest release, the service now features group collaboration capabilities presented in a simple user interface through which users can create member groups, share relevant information, distribute group email alerts and interact via their own portal. This interface furthermore offers a group discussion board, a shared calendar and access to individual group member profiles. CrimeDex subscriber groups can be created based on geographical region, affiliation with a particular association or organization, involvement in a particular investigation or any other parameter.

Additionally, the latest CrimeDex release fully integrates with 3VR’s suite of SmartRecorder intelligent video management platforms. 3VR SmartRecorders, ranging from the E-Series, the world’s most advanced and flexible hybrid DVR/NVR, to the S-Series, a newly released compact and economical solution, offer the highest video quality and most comprehensive multi-analytic and intelligent video search capabilities available on the market today. This integration offers CrimeDex subscribers the ability to upload, manage and share both images and video captured by the SmartRecorder system, thus speeding investigations and allowing for the instant sharing of critical, time-sensitive information.

“CrimeDex’s new group collaboration features are completely unique in this market, providing a sophisticated yet easy-to-use platform for subscribers to share critical information in order to expedite criminal investigations and work together more efficiently to solve crimes, catch repeat offenders and prevent fraud and theft,”said Jim Hudson, vice president of CrimeDex Services at 3VR. “With CrimeDex’s latest release, we are able to offer law enforcement professionals and private businesses, such as banks and retailers, the security industry’s most robust and comprehensive collaborative criminal search service.”

“CrimeDex has long been an invaluable resource for our security personnel in their efforts to connect with law enforcement agencies and quickly and accurately gather information to support criminal investigations,”said Pam Smith, director of loss prevention at SCE Federal Credit Union.“These new features will allow us not only to access critical information quickly, but also to join with other security personnel to safely trade relevant video, images and data to facilitate better security operations overall. We expect the new CrimeDex release to greatly increase our ability to fight fraud efficiently.”

3VR has also expanded the types of crimes supported by the CrimeDex service, now offering support for criminal investigations related to fraud, shoplifting, auto theft, organized retail theft and other crimes. The CrimeDex collaborative and investigative platform also offers sophisticated information gathering capabilities across multiple locations and/or jurisdictions and the ability to send out alerts to all member law enforcement agencies, bank investigators and financial institutions

Launched in 2001, CrimeDex currently supports over 1000 member agencies. The Merrimack Valley Financial Crimes Network (MVFCN) and the California Financial Crimes Investigators Association (CFCIA) will be the first law enforcement associations to transition from CrimeDex 1.0 to the 2.0 beta this month.

“CrimeDex will allow our organization to communicate considerably more effectively and efficiently,” said Nancy Mansi CFE, president at MVFCN and security officer and assistant BSA officer for Metro Credit Union.“For example, until now, our executive board had to send out alerts on behalf of our members. With CrimeDex, our members can not only send out alerts directly, but also post questions and important information on the discussion board, making collaboration much easier and more direct.”

“CrimeDex 2.0 offers a vast set of powerful features, but most critically, it allows users to share crime data within a safe and secure platform,” said Ed Whyte, state board president at CFCIA.“This takes the value of 3VR’s service several levels beyond that of a basic criminal database, allowing our members to collaborate and work together to solve crime more efficiently than ever before”
