WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF FRAUD INVESTIGATORS JOINS 3VR CRIMEDEX NETWORK

WAFI Joins Industry’s Most Robust Crime Fighting Network to Expedite Investigations and Share Critical Information to Solve and Prevent Crime Across 1300 Member Agencies

San Francisco, CA – October 8, 2009 – 3VR Security, Inc., the searchable surveillance leader, today announced that the Wisconsin Association of Fraud Investigators has joined CrimeDex, the industry’s most robust collaborative criminal data-sharing service, with secure social networking capabilities dedicated to solving and preventing crime.

The Wisconsin Association of Fraud Investigators (WAFI) is the most recent addition to the fast-growing CrimeDex network, which now supports over 1300 member agencies and reaches over 600,000 fraud, loss prevention and law enforcement professionals. CrimeDex will provide WAFI’s 300 bank, credit union and retail members the unique ability to search a comprehensive Web-driven database of more than 14,000 criminal suspects, expedite investigations and securely share critical information to aid in the solving and prevention of crime.

“More often than not, we find ourselves tracking the same suspects as other institutions in the region, which is a drain on both the resources and valuable time of our investigators,” said Karen Schellin CFSSP, Vice President, Fraud/Risk Manager for First Banking Center. “CrimeDex eliminates this wasted time by enabling fast and simple collaboration with other WAFI and CrimeDex members to quickly search suspects, accurately gather information and complete efficient criminal investigations.”

Founded in 2001, with a substantially improved service launched earlier this year, CrimeDex 2.0 features group collaboration capabilities presented in a simple user interface through which users can create member groups, share relevant information, distribute group email alerts and interact via their own portal. The service offers group collaboration capabilities including a discussion board, a shared calendar and access to individual group member profiles. CrimeDex subscriber groups can be created based on geographical region, affiliation with a particular association or organization, involvement in a particular investigation or any other parameter.

“We’ve seen a very positive response to CrimeDex’s new group collaboration features, and our growing membership is a great demonstration of our momentum and customer trust in CrimeDex as the security industry’s most robust and comprehensive collaborative criminal search service,” said Jim Hudson, vice president of CrimeDex Services at 3VR. “As CrimeDex membership continues to grow nationwide, the network will only cast a wider net, enabling members to share crime data, collect information, report and solve crime faster and more effectively than ever before.”

The latest CrimeDex release also fully integrates with 3VR’s SmartRecorder intelligent video management platform, which includes the newly-released P-Series, the world’s most powerful and flexible hybrid DVR/NVR, and the S-Series, the most compact and economical solution ever built on 3VR’s platform, to offer the highest video quality and most comprehensive multi-analytic and intelligent video search capabilities available on the market today. This integration offers CrimeDex subscribers the ability to upload, manage and share both images and video captured by the SmartRecorder system, thus speeding investigations and allowing for the instant sharing of critical, time-sensitive information.
